Washington State Department of Ecology
Ecology is Washington’s principal environmental management agency. Missions are to protect, preserve and enhance Washington’s environment, and promote the wise management of our air, land and water for the benefit of current and future generations. Washington State Department of Financial Institutions
DFI provides regulatory oversight for our state’s financial service providers. The department was created by combining pre-existing units from two state agencies in October, 1993. Although relatively new, the agency’s beginnings date back to the early 1900s, with the organization of the Division of Banking on June 12, 1907, and the Division of Securities in the 1930s.
